Let's get this party started

The world needs another baby blog like it needs a hole in its head, right?

Of course, some people probably DO need that, because they're so annoying, so maybe that leaves room for another blog.

I always have so many good intentions about blogging, and tell myself I'm going to get back into it regularly, so here's another experiment to see if it works. I do enjoy it, and I like writing, but I don't always actually sit down and take the time. But who has time with a baby?

I'm a new mom with an 8-week old daughter who is beautiful and funny. She could very well be our only child, as we're already in our late 30s and she's the result of our first cycle of IVF with ICSI, which makes this also, I suppose, an infertility blog in some ways.  Being a new parent has its own joys and challenges, but it's a whole lot of fun. I love watching my husband and family interest with her, and her reactions as she sees the world around her. I've always tried to see the joy and wonder in the little things, but not be overwhelmed by them. Babies do see all those things and can't quite filter yet, but they learn, and watching it is amazing.

Still, the hope is to talk about the challenges we have right now: a super hard budget, cloth-diapering, my surprising amount of crunchiness that I didn't expect to develop, maybe a few reviews, the dog, rants, raves, and really anything in particular I feel like saying. I'm sure the baby will at least be mentioned in most of them.

I can't promise to always be interesting, but I can at least try.
